These drawings aim to capture the organic process of brainstorming and idea generation. Before each session, Julia asked her model to meditate on the theme of “thinking of an idea,” resulting in natural, personal poses that reflected that feeling. Through a series of short ink drawings and longer painted poses, she overlapped the figures on the paper to depict the overlapping and coalescing nature of the creative process. To Julia, the generation of an idea is not a straightforward linear thought, but a dynamic composition of interweaving concepts.
